For thousands of children in government schools, blurred vision often means blurred dreams. They struggle to see the blackboard, read their books, or participate confidently in class – quietly falling behind, simply because they cannot see.

Let’s Give Hope Foundation, in collaboration with SBI General Insurance, decided to change this.

What We Did:

1. Conducted Free Eye Check-Up Camps in 13 government schools.

2. Screened 4,821 children for vision problems.

3. Provided 113 children with free spectacles who needed them

For many, this was their first pair of spectacles ever. The sparkle in their eyes when they saw their books clearly, or recognized their friends’ faces from across the classroom, was priceless.

In the heart of a lively joint family, where the voices of elders, cousins, and siblings constantly fill the air, Mahi, a quiet 10-year-old fifth grader, is carving out her own identity—one word, one lesson, and one brave step at a time.

Mahi is the youngest of three siblings. Her home is filled with warmth, but also with the pressures that often come with large families. Her mother, managing a household full of responsibilities, can be stern—sometimes reprimanding Mahi harshly when she misbehaves. “When I do something wrong, she scolds me a lot,” Mahi says in a small voice, “It hurts, but I know she loves me too.” Her family is supportive of her education, often reminding her that school is her way to a better future—but gentle encouragement isn’t always easy to come by.

That’s where the Saksham Skill Centre, run by the Let’s Give Hope Foundation, changed everything.

Eight months ago, in November, Mahi’s friend—also a student at the Centre—invited her to come along. Mahi didn’t expect much, but curiosity pulled her in. And what she found was a place unlike any she had known. A space filled with patient teachers, bright walls, and kind voices. A place where no one shouted when she got something wrong. Where mistakes weren’t punished, but gently corrected.

“It was different,” Mahi says, smiling softly. “People here listen. They don’t get angry. They tell me I can do better, and I believe them.”

Since that first day, Mahi has hardly missed a session. Even on days when the sun beats down mercilessly—when the temperature soars to 42°C and walking feels like a challenge—she still makes the trip to the Centre. “It’s hot,” she says, wiping sweat from her brow, “but when I reach Saksham, I feel happy. I forget the heat.”

Over these eight months, Mahi has grown in confidence. She now reads English stories aloud, participates in discussions, and helps her classmates when they struggle. She speaks more clearly, listens more carefully, and has even learned to express her emotions in healthier ways.

“I used to cry when I was scolded at home. Now, I try to talk instead of hiding,” she says, her eyes steady. Her family has noticed the change too. Her sibling call her “the smart one” now, and even her mother—still firm—has begun to soften, asking Mahi to tell her what she’s learned each day.

More than grades or language skills, Saksham has given Mahi something deeper: the belief that her voice matters.

“I want to be a teacher when I grow up,” she says. “One who understands. One who never yells.”

In a world that once felt too loud for her to be heard, Mahi is learning to speak, to dream, and most importantly—to believe in herself.

Ten-year-old Kajal is a quiet force of determination. Living in a small, close-knit nuclear family in a modest neighborhood, her journey has been far from easy. But thanks to the opportunities provided by the Saksham Skill Centre, a community initiative run by the Let’s Give Hope Foundation, Kajal has discovered not just a place to learn—but a place to grow.

Kajal first heard about the Centre from her best friend Gungun, a longtime student at Saksham. Curious and eager to learn, Kajal decided to visit one day—and never looked back. In just two months, she has transformed in ways that even she finds hard to believe.

“When I first came here, I couldn’t speak English at all. I was shy and afraid to talk to anyone. Now, I can talk in English, I understand things better, and I have more friends,” she says proudly.

At Saksham, Kajal is part of a welcoming and encouraging environment where children are taught communication skills, English language, basic academics, and social values. The sessions are interactive and fun, using activities, games, and real-life examples to make learning meaningful. Kajal has not only improved in English, but she has also become more expressive and confident. From hesitating to speak to now participating in class discussions and helping her peers, her progress is evident to everyone around her.

Her journey of growth is all the more inspiring when seen in the context of her personal circumstances. Kajal’s father, a hardworking gardener, recently suffered a serious injury to his legs, leaving him bedridden and unable to work. The financial responsibility of the family has now fallen on Kajal’s older brother, who works long hours to support them. Despite these challenges, Kajal’s family has been incredibly supportive of her attending the Centre.

“My mother and brother say they are proud of me. They tell me to keep going and keep learning. Even my father smiles when I show him what I’ve learned,” Kajal shares with a gentle smile.

In school too, Kajal is doing better. She says that her reading and writing skills have improved, and she feels more prepared during class. She also helps her classmates and sometimes even teaches her younger neighbors what she learns at Saksham.

“I feel like I’m becoming a better person,” Kajal says. “I want to come here every day. This place has changed me.”

Kajal’s story is one of quiet strength, inner transformation, and the profound impact of a supportive learning environment. It is also a shining example of what’s possible when a child is given the right tools and encouragement to succeed.

Living in male-dominating societies, women play a wide range of roles, such as caring mothers, loving daughters, and capable colleagues. The best part is that they fit the bill perfectly in every role. Nonetheless, they’ve also stood as a neglected bunch of society in different parts of the world. In turn, it has resulted in women surviving the brunt of unevenness, financial trustworthiness, oppression, and distinct social evils. Women have been residing under the shackles of enslavement for centuries now that impedes them from attaining professional as well as personal highs. When we talk about Education, what primarily comes into our minds is- Books, Pens, Crayon, Children in School but is this it? No, there is a bigger picture to it. What we know that education is the knowledge that one gets through books, teacher and peers and what shapes one as an active individual and what one may call it as attainment of academic excellence. If Education shapes one as an active individual and the knowledge then it must be essential for everyone, right? Sure, Education is essential for every citizen but the bigger question is that- “Do they all have access to it?”

The answer would definitely “NO”, not only because there have been no rapid influential efforts but due to various other factors as well.

The meaning of Education goes beyond the understanding of “Attainment of Academic Excellence”.

Right to Education is a fundamental right under Article 21A of the Indian Constitution, which is legally guaranteed and enshrined in national constitutions. Right to Education ensures that everyone has access to education irrespective of the background that they may come from. It not only educates individuals but makes them an aware and active citizen by empowering them and fostering social inclusion, elimination poverty, boosting employed and efficiently contributing to the economy. The right is not only effective in India but is recognized globally, without any discrimination treating all the individuals the same.

In India, free and effective elementary education has been made compulsory as the legal key aspect. The right ensures that all the children up to the 14 years of age are educated and are not deprived of their fundamental right. It not only looks for the elementary education but also encompasses higher education, embracing the vocational training in India and providing lifelog opportunities.

For an individual’s overall development and growth- education is must as it equips them with knowledge, skills and the abilities for critical thinking.

An educated citizen actively participates in democratic processes and human rights fostering the efficient and fair development of the country and protecting them from being exploited.

In our society there is a gap between the society, one side of the society includes educated and wealthy class of people living a fulfilled life whereas on the other side of the bridge are the illiterate under-privileged citizens prone to being exploited. The root of the gap can be bridged by Education by promoting equality and providing opportunities to individuals belonging from marginalized communities.

Education not only let the individuals be aware of their rights and safeguards them from being exploited, it also helps to boost the economic growth by providing a set of more skilled workforce through training. Educated people often are not bounded by limits and tend to chase their dreams.

Education lets these people pursue their passion enduring that the potential is utilized properly by developing talent and strengths.

Hence, it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that every child has access to quality education for their own overall development and growth and also in shaping the future of our society- both economically and socially. It must be made sure that Education is free, compulsory and inclusive and also the schools must not charge high fees in the name of the Right to Education and it must be made sure that no child id deprived of their fundamental right. Every individual must also support the initiatives with respect to the Education Campaigns.

When we talk about Environment, the very first understanding that comes to our mind is what we learnt about in 3^rd grade- Everything that surround us, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we live on, the birds, the animals and everything in our ecosystem. The Natural System that supports life and beings. Environment gives us food, shelter, water and everything that a creature needs to sustain life on this planet.

India is blessed with rich mountains, rivers, seas and oceans and the most beautiful scenic beauties and yet all of it is in danger with the climate crisis that has been going on. The message is clear- Tomorrow must be saved today.

The alert signs have already been given- Beginning with the heavy floods in Uttarakhand, to rise in the sea levels in Mumbai and the cyclones hitting the coast every year- environment has raised various alerting alarms which individuals have been successfully ignoring. India has already been facing critical side effects of the environment degradation. It has been ranked 14^th most polluted city in the world which sounds more serious when separated from it statistical terms and focused on the part where the youth is growing up in the polluted environment prone to thousands of diseases. Many cities have been facing water shortage on the other hand while the river which is considered holy is being polluted.

Illegal Mining, overcrowding in urban areas and poorly planned infrastructure have led to the vanishing of green spaces and extinction of various species all while keeping the remaining at the stake of endangered creatures.

It is not only about how it is affecting the environment but more about how human beings are surviving in the space where their health is in danger. The future generation is at stake- for the same, the concept of Sustainability must be looked upon.

In a country with the population of over a billion, efforts of each individual could bring a great difference if all of them collectively take a stand for the cause.

One can do the following- one step at a time, to bring a change-

• Sustainable Living- One must use biodegradable materials and say no to plastic. Use clothe bags instead of polythene. Use public transport or carpool instead of private cars to reduce the gas and smoke emission and use energy efficient appliances.
• Support Eco Friendly Policies-
• Influence and Educate- 

Indians through ages have been worshipping the land that we live in, the rivers, mountains and the animals not just spiritually but also sustainably. We all must revisit the roots blending the ancient wisdom with modern innovation respecting the warnings that the nature has been giving us.

From solar energy in Rajasthan to bamboo houses in the Northeast, and organic farming in Kerala to electric rickshaws in Delhi — change is already happening. We need more of it, and we need it faster. Certain government policies and environment campaigns have also been a great help.

Waiting for more disasters would only make the situation worse and the action must be taken right from TODAY.

Phoolshayara, a young woman from a humble background, grew up in a backward village where technology was a distant concept. Her family, reliant on daily wages, worked hard to make ends meet. Despite these challenges, her parents encouraged her to pursue education and better opportunities, believing that change begins with learning.

When Phoolshayara learned about the Saksham Skill Centre and its computer training programs, she saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between her dreams and reality. With her parents’ unwavering support, she enrolled in the 6-month Basic Computer Skills Course.

Initially, the digital world seemed overwhelming to Phoolshayara, as she had never interacted with computers before. However, the trainers at the centre guided her step by step, making her feel comfortable and confident. Over the course of six months, Phoolshayara mastered the basics of MS Word for document creation, Excel for managing data, and PowerPoint for creating presentations. She also learned how to browse the internet and use email, skills that opened up a whole new world of possibilities for her.

Her family played a vital role in her journey. Though they were unfamiliar with technology, they encouraged her to attend every session and supported her in practicing what she learned at home. Their belief in her ability became her driving force.

Today, Phoolshayara is a changed individual. While she is still looking for employment opportunities, she now uses her skills to assist her community, helping local shopkeepers maintain records and teaching younger children the basics of computers. Her knowledge has not only enhanced her confidence but has also made her a source of inspiration for others in her village.

Pooja, a young woman from a small, backward village, always had a dream of becoming self-reliant and contributing to her family's income. Growing up in a community where opportunities were scarce, Pooja faced numerous challenges, including financial hardships and societal expectations that often-limited women from pursuing their aspirations.

Determined to create a better future, Pooja enrolled in the 6-month Mehendi Designing Course at the Saksham Skill Centre. The centre, known for empowering individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, became her second home. The supportive trainers and structured curriculum not only taught her the art of intricate mehendi designs but also instilled in her the confidence to dream big. During her course, Pooja mastered various styles of mehendi, from traditional bridal patterns to contemporary designs.

In her community, where resources and opportunities for women were limited, the odds seemed stacked against her. Despite these challenges, Pooja was determined to create a better future. Her turning point came when she learned about the Saksham Skill Centre, an initiative dedicated to empowering individuals from underprivileged backgrounds. She decided to enroll in their 6-month Mehendi Designing Course, hoping it would be the first step toward change.

The course at Saksham was more than just a learning experience—it was a life-changing journey. Pooja discovered her innate talent for mehendi art, mastering traditional and modern designs under the guidance of skilled trainers. Beyond technical skills, the centre taught her about confidence, client interaction, and entrepreneurial basics.

As she progressed, Pooja’s passion for mehendi grew. She began taking small assignments within her village, gaining recognition for her intricate designs and professionalism.

Living in a close-knit but financially strained household, Pooja grew up witnessing her parents’ unwavering dedication to providing her with opportunities they never had. Though they had limited resources, Pooja’s parents were determined to support her dreams. When she expressed her desire to learn a skill that could help her become independent, her parents stood by her side. They encouraged her to join the 6-month Mehendi Designing Course at the Saksham Skill Centre, even if it meant adjusting their already tight budget to cover her basic needs during the training.The support from her family became Pooja’s pillar of strength.

At the Saksham Skill Centre, Pooja learned not just the art of mehendi design but also valuable lessons in confidence and perseverance. While she is still in the early stages of her journey and hasn’t yet established herself as a professional artist, she practices diligently, designing mehendi for family and friends. Her parents continue to encourage her, reminding her that success takes time and effort.

Pooja’s story reflects the strength of familial support and the importance of opportunities like those provided by the Saksham Skill Centre. With her parents by her side and her own determination to succeed, Pooja is taking steady steps toward a brighter future.

Mala is a student at our Saksham Skill Center. She is also learning Stitching at the center. Now she knows how to stitch clothes, like a blouse, suit, etc.

Her 06 months course is completed, and the basics for stitching are completed. Her parents are very happy and want her to learn more for a better future as she will be independent in managing her expenses and can do the needful further.

Her Father was pleased with the response of our center as they help them in all possible ways they want. They were very happy with our teachers who helped and made the students eligible for all these activities.

Mala wants to join the beautician course, which has been started very shortly.

She wanted to learn about beauty too, and when the course is available now, she wants to join and learn it.

It feels good to see women becoming independent and utilizing their great time to learn for their benefit.

Risha Kanujiya is a student at our Saksham Skill Center.

She is learning Stitching at our Center and has completed her basics. She knew nothing about stitching, but now she knows how to stitch a blouse, suit, etc.

She completed her 6 months course, and after that, she stitched clothes for her mother.

Her Mother was so happy to learn that she knows stitching as she can do her work and can become independent.

Her Mother wants each girl to learn from an NGO as it is a good opportunity for girls to earn from stitching and become independent.

Risha and her mother were so happy with our NGO; they helped them when they needed help.

She was delighted as she invested the money in the right place for her daughter as now her Daughter is independent to do things and can earn herself.

India is a country with diverse population, most of which consists of male as compared to females. A ton of questions have been raised regarding the same. Why is there a vast disproportionate gender ratio between these two genders?

Enriched with culture, India is a country rooted into its societal norms that have been passed down from generations to generations whether it be gender roles or the authority and power, and again the country looks deep into it. The root cause that one might blame for the gender discrimination begins with the societal norms and ends with humans believing it to be true. Hence, women empowerment is a need in the country. There have been constant fight going on to attain women empowerment and let women be aware of their rights and freedom but yet the women of our country are facing a direct backlash in every field of work they work in whether it be formal or informal and the major underlying causes need to be studied.

Economic development is not just about driving up the GDP of a country. What a country is with an impressive economy if it cannot help its citizen to recognize the crucial pillars of the society- THE WOMEN. The employment rate of women is lower than men, there is a concerning gender pay gap ratio between both the genders where men are paid more than women in the same field of work and the literacy rate of women is same as the other two. Our society believes that if a man does household chores it’s a thing which should be applauded and if a woman is doing it, that’s what she’s born for. Hypocrites right? In the different scenario, if a woman is working a paid job she’s is demeaned for it while a man is appreciated for earning the bread. Due to this mentality most of the work done by women is considered as informal and hence remains unpaid. What the people of this country would not understand that the informal unpaid work is the core pillar of all the formal work being done conveniently. If contributed to GDP, the unpaid work by women would contribute about 7.5%. As said involvement of women in work sectors is equally important as it would not only boost the economy but also help in social development of the country, which is very much needed at this point.

What this society assumes is that women must be held accountable for everything whereas men must only hold the dominant power to control the puppets. The lack of accountability in men concerns high crime and rape rates in women and the abuse and domestic violence that women face in household.

The following are the underlying causes for the discrimination that women face in day to day lives-

• Illiteracy among women- Women are deprived of Education due to various factors. Many households believe that spending in a woman’s education is considered a waste of money as they are meant to look after household chores. While education is a fundamental right and government is putting in efforts to grant access to education to every child, people in rural areas still do not believe in that. They get their daughters engaged in household chores or marry off their daughters at a very young age. Illiteracy is the root cause of women not being aware of their social standing, rights and freedom in the society and is a major cause of diseases in women.
• Financial Dependence- Women due to lack of education and societal beliefs remain unemployed making them being depend on men for money, food and shelter. Men see this as a vulnerability which raises the cases of domestic violence and abuse as men start feeling g superior to women trying to prove their dominance and women due to the dependence fear to take a stand for them.
• Lack of Independence- Women due to lack of knowledge and financial dependence are often restricted to be engaged in household chores only. They are set by limits and hence fail to prioritize their dreams. Many a times even educated women are not allowed by the family to work due to the societal norms if what they believe that women are born to help in household chores and not to purse the dominant bread earner role of the family. Due to this lack of independence women often lose motivation due the limits and not being able to perform up to their marked potential remaining underestimated.
• Gender Pay Gap- Despite all the efforts of education, women still are paid lesser than men in various work sectors due to which women often lose motivation and their potential goes wasted. Even for the same work in the same field men are prioritized and paid more while women even after working for long hours remain unpaid.
• Mindset shift- The society sees men as dominant creatures whereas women are often seen as vulnerable giving men the hold more power and authority to rule over women. Women are the first to blame in every aspect and the norms have been passed down from generations to generations and hence there us a serious need for the change in the mindset shift.
• Balancing double duties- Women often fail to give their best potential due the burnout caused due to the balancing of both the duties, that is, household chores as well as paid work and despite the double efforts, they are paid less. Women are bound to look after the chores as this is what society believes them to look after. Despite having a working job stereotype believe that women must look after their homes while men are supposed to lay down after a long day ow work.

There still a lot of factors which normalize the discrimination that women face in their day to day lives. The normalization has occurred due to how often to is faced by females. These causes must be studies and the action must be taken upon.

India is still at a better place with respect to the situation of women in the country in terms of education and empowerment but it still has a long way to go when we talk about the women safety and the mind set shifts.

In the narrow bylanes of Lucknow lived a young girl named Divyanshi, whose eyes dreamed of classrooms, blackboards, and books. But dreams are often fragile in homes where even two square meals are uncertain.

Born into a family struggling to make ends meet, Divyanshi’s desire to study often clashed with the harsh truth of survival. Her innocent questions like “Mumma, kya main school ja sakti hoon?” were met with silent tears and helpless eyes.

But destiny had something else planned.

The Let’s Give Hope Foundation came across this brave little heart — full of dreams but bound by limitations. And we made her a promise:

“You will study. You will grow. And we will walk with you.”

In 2024, we enrolled her in Bright Future Academy in Class 6 — not just paying her school fees, but also providing her with everything she needed to feel like any other child in that classroom:

We didn’t stop there. To ensure she doesn’t fall behind and grows holistically, we arranged for her to attend free tuitions at our Saksham Skill Centre — a place where she learns, laughs, and slowly blooms into a confident young girl.

And today, as a new academic year begins, we are proud to say that we are supporting her once again — because her journey is far from over. And because her dream is now ours too.

Divyanshi is more than just a child we support. She is the beating heart of what Let’s Give Hope stands for. She is the reason we do what we do.

My name is Hemlata. I live in Vidhwan Khand, Gali No. 2, Chhota Bharwara, Gomti Nagar. I completed my post-graduation in Sociology from Shree Durga Shiksha Niketan Mahavidyalaya in 2023.

I had only heard about computers before; I had never studied or used one. I wanted to learn computers, but due to my lack of knowledge and not knowing English, I felt hesitant. Then, I learned from my college that Saksham Skill Center offers training in computers, sewing, and mehndi. I immediately visited the center and enrolled in a six-month basic computer course.

At first, I was very scared to learn computers, but all the teachers at Saksham Skill Center, especially Akhil Sir, motivated me and boosted my confidence. During these six months, I learned Computer Fundamentals, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint - from basic to advanced), email usage, and many other important topics. Currently, I am learning English typing and applying for jobs in private companies.

I am also grateful to Ashish Maurya Sir, the founder of Saksham Skill Center, who established such a wonderful institution in our area, where sewing, mehndi, and computer skills are taught at a very minimal fee. Just as I have gained excellent training here, I encourage all of you to join this center and enhance your skills.

My name is Pradeep Kumar. I live near Daily Bazaar, Viraj Khand - 2, Bada Bharwara, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. I completed my 12th grade in 2023 from Rajkiya Inter College, Raja Fatehpur, Amethi.

Due to financial difficulties at home, I moved to Lucknow and applied for jobs at various places. However, everywhere I went, I was asked if I had completed a computer course. When I said 'no,' they told me that getting a job without computer skills would be difficult.

Because of this, I was feeling quite frustrated at home. One day, some brothers and sisters visited my house and informed me that they were doing an internship at Let's Give Hope Foundation. They also told me that Let's Give Hope Foundation had established Saksham Skill Center in my area, where computer, sewing, and mehndi courses were taught for just Rs. 100 per month.

I asked them about the computer course and the center and gathered all the necessary information. The very next day, I visited the center and met Akhil Sir to learn more about the computer course. In June 2024, I enrolled in the course.

My Journey in the Course: When I joined the computer course, I did not even know how to turn on a computer. However, within a month, I became familiar with it. By the end of six months, under the guidance of Akhil Sir, I learned several important computer skills, such as: ✔ Turning the computer on and off
✔ Creating files and folders
✔ Typing in Hindi and English
✔ Using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

After completing the course, I started learning English typing.

Journey to Getting a Job: In February 2025, Akhil Sir informed me about a job vacancy at McDonald's and helped me prepare for the interview. During my computer basics course, I had created my own CV, which I took with me for the interview. I am happy to share that I got selected, and my joining will be after Holi.

My job starts at 6 PM, so I will continue learning English typing at the center in the afternoon and work at McDonald's in the evening.

In a heartwarming initiative, Let's Give Hope Foundation orchestrated a campaign that distributed free eyeglasses to children in need. This endeavor aimed to empower young lives with clear vision, addressing the challenges faced by underprivileged children who lacked access to proper eyewear. Through partnerships with optometrists, volunteers, and donors, the foundation's campaign reached schools, communities, and rural areas, leaving a trail of transformed lives.

Among the beneficiaries was Sunny, a 12-year-old , a student of government primary school Narahi, whose blurry vision hindered his potential. Identified during the campaign, Sunny received his first pair of glasses from Let's Give Hope Foundation. He said "I used to squint and struggle to read, but these glasses opened a door to knowledge , thank you lets give hope foundation for helping me see the world clearly" With newfound clarity, Sunny academic performance soared as he actively engaged in class and pursued his dreams. His story became a testament to the impact of compassion and collective action, igniting hope in the hearts of many.

The Jakson group along with Let's give hope foundation coordinated a much needed program about “self defense”. A self defense workshop was held as a part of our saksham program at various places in UP like Lucknow and Sitapur with the aim of empowering the girls of our nation,instilling a sense of bravery in them, and boosting their mental fortitude.

Due to the rise in female violence, girls in India encounter numerous difficulties in their daily lives. Reports have shown several forms of violence against women including domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence.Learning self defense is a key remedy for this. Empowering these girls to feel more confident in their bodies, communication,relationships and opinions will be advantageous to them and will hopefully reduce violence against them. 

To make a difference in this society  ,  The Jakson group organized a self-defense course in conjunction with the Let's Give Hope organization. Around 3000 girls participated in this training program and have reported a boost in their confidence.Professional instructors explained the intricacies of blocking, punching, and kicking methods while mentioning real-world scenarios.These techniques help in defense during the times of crisis and give a sense of safety. Many girls want to learn self defense but they are unable to do so. This was overcomed by this workshop.As a result, the female students were inspired and encouraged to fight against the brutality! It not only makes them aware of their surroundings it also helps them make decisions and understand personal boundaries. This training has impacted society as a whole - it helped change people’s thoughts ,mindset and make them more aware.It empowers individuals and helps in reducing victims. It challenges societal norms related to gender.Moreover it results in increased safety and bonding of a community.

Many prominent authorities attended this event. The event was successful with the help of Jakson group as their team has always been keen to work on women's empowerment as a part of their corporate social responsibility.
